South Central Kentucky Kids on the Block will be hosting their 13th annual Garden Tour and Tea on June 22, 2013 from 10 am to 3 pm with proceeds helping bring free educational programming to local schools. This is a daylong event that includes tours of local Bowling Green gardens, leading up to a lunch and tea. The day will start with visitations to the garden sites from 10 am to 2 pm followed by a lunch at the tea site from 1 pm to 3 pm. This year we are going to be having a silent auction at the tea site, with a variety of tickets to do various attractions, vacations packages, and other items to bid on. "People don't realize what beautiful gardens and talented gardeners we have here in the area," said Debbie Hays, Director of KOB. "It is one of my favorite fundraisers, and it is a great way to get the community involved with helping us bring our programs to the local schools." Garden tour and Tea is one of our most successful fundraisers, raising over 100 thousand dollars in the past 12 years. We are hoping to continue this success, so we can keep educating children in a fun, entertaining way.
