Child Abuse Prevention II
This program features Joanne Spinoza, who is now 14 years old. Joanne was abused by her mother's boyfriend when she was only 5 years old. She tells her story about how she was abused and how she told an adult she trusted and has gotten the help she needed. Joanne explains that she waited until she was 10 years old to report her abuse because talking about it was one of the hardest things she has ever had to do. Joanne has since learned that child abuse is never a kids fault and that if anything like that ever happens again she can say "NO" then run a tell an adult that she trusts right away. At the end of this program the students have the opportunity to ask Joanne and Steven questions about child abuse. This program is appropriate for children in grades 3rd through 6th.
