This program feathers Mark Riley who has Cerebral Palsy, Renaldo Rodriguez who is blind and Ellen Jane Peterson who has Down syndrome. Despite having Down syndrome Ellen Jane explains that she’s just like other kids her age. Ellen Jane says “I guess I am just like anyone else my age. I go to high school, and I like to hang out with my friends. Oh and there’s this one boy in my class that I really like. I have big plans for when I get older, well just like anyone else my age.” Mark and Renaldo talk about how they may have to do some things a little different than other kids but they still like to do most of the things that other kids their age do. Script material also covers the use of a walking stick, and wheel chair, a definition of Down syndrome and Cerebral Palsy, and that a disability doesn’t prevent personal growth and development.
